South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) in collaboration with the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India, ALEAP (SAWDF Chapter-India) organized a three-day international conference on “Women Entrepreneurs on “Innovation, Incubation & Industrialization” held from 16th January 2018 to 19th January 2018 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India. The event was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu.
During the international conference, South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sri. Amarnath Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce Department of Andra Pradesh, and Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) to set up Women Entrepreneurs International Trade and Technology Hub (WEITTC) in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andra Pradesh Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu. The five acres of land at Vishakhapatnam were also allocated by the Chief Minister to establish the trade hub.
The main objective of the one-stop marketing and service center will be to boost women’s participation in trade through trade information, capacity building, product marketing, and regional sharing of good practices. The trade hub will focus on strengthening trade in cross-country, regional and global markets.
The conference was attended by a businesswoman delegation from Nepal, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, and Sri Lanka.
