South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) successfully concluded the Regional Policy Dialogue & Advocacy Workshop, held on 21–22 September 2026 at The Soaltee Kathmandu. The two-day gathering brought together delegates and partners from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, Bhutan and the Maldives for regional dialogue, shared learning and collective action to advance women’s economic empowerment.
Through country presentations, exchanges on good practices and panel discussions, participants shared experiences and identified common challenges, including access to finance, markets, digital skills and gaps in policy implementation. The discussions highlighted the importance of women’s participation in decision-making, stronger institutional coordination and practical regional partnerships.
The second day, facilitated by GERES, focused on shared learning within the FAME framework and the connections between gender and climate change. Interactive sessions encouraged participants to reflect on project experiences, exchange lessons learned and explore opportunities for continued collaboration.
SAWDF extends its sincere appreciation to all distinguished guests, speakers, partners, delegates and participants for their valuable contributions. The workshop strengthened a collective regional voice and a shared commitment to advancing inclusive opportunities for women across South Asia.
