WIFI DX - Training of Trainers: Advancing Digital Transformation for Women Entrepreneurs

SAWDF Board Member, Ms. Shobha Gurung, participated in the ‘WIFI DX & Training of Trainers: Empowering Women Entrepreneurs through Digital Transformation’ program, held from April 24 to April 26, 2024, in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development, the event focused on equipping women entrepreneurs with critical digital skills to navigate the modern business landscape effectively.

The program’s agenda was built around key areas essential for the digital empowerment of women entrepreneurs:

  • Women Empowerment through Business Innovation: Encouraging creativity and adaptability in entrepreneurial ventures.
  • E-commerce and Digital Marketing: Providing practical skills to enhance online visibility and expand markets.
  • Data Analytics: Equipping participants with the tools to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Trust and Security in Using Digital Technology: Addressing concerns of privacy and secure operations in the digital space.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Building strategies for resilience and sustainability in the face of challenges.

Through interactive sessions, collaborative discussions, and expert-led workshops, participants explored how digital transformation can be a catalyst for growth and inclusivity in entrepreneurship. The program also emphasized the role of trainers in cascading this knowledge to other women entrepreneurs, ensuring widespread and sustained impact.

By focusing on bridging the digital gender divide, initiatives like WIFI DX highlight the importance of integrating technology into entrepreneurial ecosystems. They not only empower women entrepreneurs to innovate and expand but also contribute to broader economic growth and gender equality. SAWDF’s participation in such endeavors underscores the importance of collective action and knowledge sharing in driving meaningful change for women entrepreneurs in South Asia and beyond.
