About SAWDF

South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) has been officially granted a regional status and is also accredited by the UN Economic and Social Council. The Forum is a member-based organization represented by a consortium of women entrepreneurs’ federations, chambers, and institutions at the national level and has chapters in all seven countries. The organization promotes women entrepreneurial spectrum in Nepal and South Asia and is actively engaged with different UN bodies with a focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It has a long-standing experience and recognition in successfully organizing workshops, annual forums, and conducting national and regional research projects. These initiatives were all undertaken with the goal of fostering trade networks, capacity building, replicating and implementing successful projects in the South Asian and ASEAN regions , introducing cutting-edge tools and technology, advocating with the government for the adoption of gender-responsive entrepreneurial ecosystem and policies for women SMEs.

SAWDF plays the role of a catalyst in strengthening the voice of women for economic empowerment through gender equality in the South Asian region.

SAWDF facilitates in taking forward the recommendations drawn from the deliberations of national programs, as regional instruments for developing women SMEs policies. These institutional issues and declarations on economic issues are integrated into Regional Summits.
