SAWDF Holds Its 13th Annual General Meeting

The South Asian Women Development Forum (SAWDF) successfully convened its 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on October 10, 2025. The meeting brought together board members and general members to review the organization’s progress, financial performance, and strategic direction for the coming year.
SAWDF's President, Ms. Pramila Acharya Rijal, opened the session by warmly welcoming all attendees and acknowledging the continued support and contributions of SAWDF’s members. She emphasized the importance of collective effort, innovation, and commitment in advancing SAWDF’s mission of empowering women entrepreneurs and strengthening regional cooperation.
Ms. Sharada Rijal Adhikari, SAWDF's General Secretary, presented the Annual Progress Report, highlighting key achievements from fiscal year 2081/82. These included SAWDF’s active participation in major national and international platforms such as the Nepal Food Forum 2024 and the South and South-West Asia SDG Forum in New Delhi. She also outlined the successful implementation of projects like the FAME Project, the Aarohi Mentorship Program with FCA, and continued progress of the Women Entrepreneurs Green Industrial Park (WEGIP) in Panchkhal Municipality.
SAWDF's Treasurer, Ms. Rekha Aryal, shared the financial audit report, which was unanimously approved by the members. During an interactive session, members discussed strengthening communication, engagement, and networking opportunities within SAWDF. Several valuable suggestions were made, including enhancing information-sharing platforms, promoting members’ businesses, and expanding the network of general members to foster greater collaboration.
The meeting concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from Board Member Ms. Sunita Sherpa, who expressed appreciation to all members and staff for their dedication and support. The 13th AGM reaffirmed SAWDF’s collective vision to empower women entrepreneurs and advance inclusive economic development in the South Asian region.
