South Asian Women Development Forum has successfully organized an interaction workshop on Friday, 26th of Shrawan in Kathmandu. This workshop aimed to foster a deeper understanding on the importance of the role of the government, parliamentarians, and lawmakers in creating strategic policies that enable a conducive environment to promote innovative projects such as- the first in Nepal and second in South Asia “Women Entrepreneurs Green Industrial Park” which will support gender mainstreaming in the socio - economic sphere.
During the program chief guest Hon'ble Finance Minister Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat expressed his commitment that, the government will support the project and hoped for extension of similar projects in other parts of Nepal. He further added that women entrepreneurship and the green economy has to be given priority to address unemployment issues and migration of youths.
Honorable Members of Parliament, Narayani Sharma- Maoist Center, Sumana Shrestha – Rastriya Swatantra Party, Deputy Speaker of Bagmati Pradesh- Apsara Chapagai mentioned that as lawmakers they would be happy to advocate on issues on the socio – economic issues of women.
