SAWDF, in collaboration with the Asian and Pacific Training Centre for ICT for Development (APCICT/UNESCAP), successfully completed the "South Asia Subregional Training: Launching the First Women ICT Frontier Initiative (WIFI) DX." Held from June 11th to 13th in Kathmandu, this transformative training program brought together 50 dynamic women entrepreneurs from Nepal and across South Asia, all eager to harness the power of digital transformation to enhance their business capabilities. Participants engaged in a series of comprehensive courses designed to provide them with the tools and knowledge necessary to thrive in the digital age.
Comprehensive Curriculum for Digital Empowerment
The training program featured four key courses:
• Foundation Course on Women Empowerment through Business Innovation and Digital Transformation: This foundational course set the stage for understanding the critical role of digital transformation in driving business innovation and empowering women entrepreneurs.
• E-commerce and Digital Marketing: Participants delved into the world of online business, learning essential strategies for leveraging e-commerce platforms and digital marketing to expand their market reach.
• Data Analytics for Women Entrepreneurs: This course equipped attendees with the skills to analyze and interpret data effectively, enabling data-driven decision-making for business growth.
• Business Continuity Planning: Ensuring business resilience, this course focused on preparing entrepreneurs to maintain operations and navigate challenges in the face of disruptions.
The participants, all registered women entrepreneurs in micro, small, or medium enterprises, were selected based on their basic digital knowledge and proficiency in spoken and written English.
The training program was marked by active participation and engagement from all attendees, who were eager to apply the newly acquired knowledge to their enterprises. The sessions were led by esteemed international trainers, whose expertise provided valuable insights and guidance, enriching the learning experience.
Looking Ahead
The certificate distribution program on the final day marked the culmination of a highly successful training event. SAWDF and APCICT/UNESCAP believe that the skills and insights gained during this training will significantly benefit women entrepreneurs, empowering them to navigate and succeed in the digital world. This initiative emphasizes our commitment to fostering women's economic empowerment and digital inclusion not only in Nepal but across South Asia.
