SAWDF in collaboration with the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP) has jointly promoted a new institution registered as a Not for Profit Company, “Women Entrepreneurs International Trade and Technology Centre” (WE-ITTC). The WE- ITTC is a platform for conducting training for women entrepreneurs in South Asia countries including technology transfer, capacity building, and trade-related matters, besides organizing exhibitions for women entrepreneurs from the SAARC and ASEAN regions.
The first WE ITTC webinar program was on “Covid Challenges-Business Resilience and Business Recovery Action Plans" held on 11th and 12th May. The two-day program covered issues such as the different types of risks faced by women entrepreneurs and how to manage these risks and challenges with resilience, response & reliability in a Covid economic scenario.
On the first day specialists and policymakers shared their points of view/plans. The first day of the webinar was graced by H.E. Ms. Neeza Imad-Hon’ble Minister of State for Economic Development, Maldives, Dr. Sita Sumrit-Head of Poverty Eradication and Gender Division, ASEAN Secretariat, Dr. Srinivas Tata-Director, Social Development Division, UNESCAP, Bangkok and Ms. Pacita Juan -Past Chairperson, ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network (AWEN). SAWDF, President Ms. Pramila Acharya Rijal briefed on the role of SAWDF in strengthening the WE-ITTC network.
And on the second day business women, and visionaries from South Asia shared their stories about how they overcame the Covid challenges with strength, response, and reliability.
